Course Description
English 9 in the Ag-Science program is an option to the English 1A and 1B classes offered at RBHS. Throughout this year students will master content that is crucial to the rest of their years here at Ross Beatty with a focus on informational text. My focus will be to prepare students for the field of Science and the MME and/or ACT test. My hope is that they will learn the basics of English in their first year and that they will build on them throughout their time in high school.
Units of Study
Throughout the year, we will cover vocabulary, grammar, science articles, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, Cambridge lessons (test prep), Informational writing, The Giver, Animal Farm, and research. The focus of this class will be on the connection between Science and English.
Late Work
If a student misses a class period, it is their responsibility to get the assignments from me before or after school on the day that they return. Students will have one class period per absence to make up homework or assessments. T
